Our hotel in Antwerp is actually a beautiful duplex apartment right by the historic centre of the town. Walking out, we were just a few minutes from the river and stopped by Het Steen. This 13th Century fortress is the old building in Antwerp and is also the cruise terminal. As we walked towards the centre of town, the heavens opened, so we took shelter in a nearby bar with a few beers under a canopy to watch the rain. Once it cleared, we visited the Markt square - Antwerp is easily one of the most beautiful cities we have visited with historic architecture and statuary everywhere you look.
