    Crater Moon (Idaho)

    July 30, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌫 29 °C

Though we could have stayed longer with the Barths to continue to participate in all that it offers, we decided we needed to continue on our journey. Upon Jenn's recommendation we stopped at Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve in Idaho. This was very different from anything we had experienced. It was the strangest landscape made up of black lava that erupted thousands of years ago. Lava tubes resulted and when they collapsed, tunnels were revealed. We did a guided tour of the Indian cave with a park ranger. Very cool. Next we traveled outside of Jackson, Wyoming where we'll spend the next few days.Read more
