    Jackson Hole, Wyoming

    July 31, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Though somewhat crowded with people, we enjoyed walking around and exploring Jackson, Wyoming which was a western version of Sonoma square that we visited in California. The well known Million Dollar Cowboy Bar had horse saddles at the bar, nice for a photo but not really the most comfortable seat. Their shops had neat photo opportunities all with a true western theme. Next we drove through the Grand Teton National Park with it's majestic peaks of the Rockies. We didn't see a lot of wildlife here, but Robert would love to be here in the fall to see the Elk migration which has elk coming down from the highlands by the hundreds. The road through the park led us straight to the south entrance of Yellowstone. Here we did begin to see wildlife...especially the deer that run in front of us while I was driving causing me to test the breaks in a big way. After that it was time to switch drivers. As we continued towards our campground reservation in West Yellowstone, we saw a buffalo meandering along the side of the road. Can't wait for tomorrow to begin our visit of this park to see what else we'll see for wildlife and to experience the geysers and hot springs.Read more
