Brews & Views – Big Ben

One last full day in London.

And I couldn’t think of a better way to start it than with another Brews & Views moment.

I hopped on the Underground early and made my way to Westminster, crossing Westminster Bridge just as the city was beginning to wake up.

On the opposite side of the River Thames, I found the perfect spot.

Big Ben stood proudly across the water, bathed in the soft morning light.

Out came the AeroPress.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about brewing your own coffee in places like this. While hundreds of people rush through London every day, I got to slow down for a few minutes, enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and simply take in one of the world’s most famous skylines.

The city was surprisingly peaceful.

A handful of joggers passed by.

Tourists trickled in.

And several couples were taking wedding photos with Big Ben as their backdrop. Watching photographers carefully position their brides and grooms while I quietly sipped my coffee somehow made the whole morning feel even more special.

Before heading back, I made one small detour through the famous Leake Street Graffiti Tunnel.

What a contrast.

Only a few minutes after admiring one of London’s most iconic landmarks, I found myself surrounded by colourful murals, fresh graffiti and artists adding new pieces to the walls.
