Vor einigen Wochen antwortete Michael auf die Frage, wie er seinen Geburtstag verbringen möchte: "Strand und Cocktails". Gesagt, getan! Michaels Mutter war bereits mit uns unterwegs, und für die Feierlichkeiten stießen auch noch Freunde dazu.
Wir trafen uns alle am Flughafen in Bangkok und fuhren gemeinsam Richtung Rayong. Überraschung, Überraschung ... wir sind wieder in Thailand!
Dort hatten wir ein Haus mit eigenem Pool gemietet, nur etwa fünf Gehminuten vom Strand entfernt. Leider war die Nebensaison deutlich spürbar. Viele Cafés, Bars und Restaurants hatten geschlossen, und auch der buchbare Nahverkehr war eingeschränkt. Glücklicherweise gab es in der Wohnanlage eine Ladenzeile, wo Tuk-Tuks vermietet wurden. Also legten wir uns kurzerhand eines zu. Damit konnten wir bequem die Straße entlang zu den Restaurants fahren und unsere Einkäufe erledigen 🛵.
Am Geburtstag selbst machten sich Anna und Jutta auf die Suche nach einem Kuchen. Es war gar nicht so einfach, dort einen guten Kuchen zu finden, aber es hat geklappt! Der Tag begann also mit einem Kuchenfrühstück, gefolgt von den gewünschten Cocktails 🍹.
Einen Tagesausflug unternahmen wir nach Pattaya. Dort standen das Sanctuary of Truth, eine Cabaret-Show und der Nachtmarkt auf dem Programm. Die Heimfahrt war, typisch thailändisch, ganz schön kuschelig und platzsparend 🥴.
Die letzten Tage verbrachten wir wieder in Bangkok. Ein Muay-Thai-Kampf durfte dabei natürlich nicht fehlen.
Danach ging es für alle Bruchsaler wieder nach Hause und für uns diesmal raus aus Thailand 🥳.

#A few weeks ago, when asked how he wanted to spend his birthday, Michael replied: "Beach and cocktails." And just like that, it happened! Michael's mom was already traveling with us, and friends joined for the celebrations.
We all met at the airport in Bangkok and drove together towards Rayong. Surprise, surprise... we're back in Thailand!
There, we rented a house with a private pool, just about a five-minute walk from the beach. Unfortunately, the low season was quite noticeable. Many cafes, bars, and restaurants were closed, and public transportation options were limited. Luckily, there was a row of shops in the housing complex where tuk-tuks were available for rent. So, we quickly got one. This made it easy for us to drive down the street to restaurants and do our shopping 🛵.
On his birthday, Anna and Jutta went looking for a cake. It wasn't easy to find a good one there, but they succeeded! So, the day started with a cake breakfast, followed by the desired cocktails 🍹.
We took a day trip to Pattaya. There, the Sanctuary of Truth, a cabaret show, and the night market were on the agenda. The drive home was, typically Thai, quite cozy and space-efficient 🥴.
We spent the last few days back in Bangkok. Of course, a Muay Thai fight couldn't be missed. Czytaj więcej
