• Lake Brockman

After a chilly night we reluctantly shed the thermals, 2 jumpers, beanie and gloves for the Lycra and set off around 8am for the 49km to Lake Brockman which is essentially Logue Brook Dam. It was probably the toughest day we have had for over a week with lots of ups and downs on bush tracks that had been badly effected by the rain with slow going both up and down due to the scours and frequent deposits of leaf matter that acted as speed bumps. We elected to not take the prescribed burn detour which was shorter and on a good gravel road but go on the original Munda Biddi trail something in reflection was not a great decision. The track was overgrown, scoured badly and there were a few trees across the path but we were very relived when finally we made Lake Brockman after 4 hrs riding time. Worse was to come- somehow the Pies beat Carlton making me 0 from 2 in the footy tipping- c'mon Eagles!Read more
