SCANDINAVIEN TURN
Day 31
28/07/2026
Also beginne ich aufzuräumen, wegzuwerfen, meine Vorräte durchzusehen.

SCANDINAVIA TOUR
Day 31
July 28, 2026
Mosjøen, Norway
The good news: the spare part is arriving tomorrow at noon and will be installed right away. I’m really happy about that.
We head back to the motorhome site and spend the day dealing with heavy rain and boredom. Hilde keeps wanting treats, and I’d happily snack away too—if I had anything left.
So, we make a big deal out of mealtimes and go for walks whenever the air is at least dry, even if the grass stays wet.
While flipping through old photos, I notice that the cardboard box in the cupboard is pretty soaked. So, I start tidying up, throwing things out, and sorting through my supplies.
We both take a nap in between. I have to run the engine to boil water, but the French couple next to us doesn't mind. He’s retired, and she’s taken a sabbatical year so they can see Europe together. That’s a great plan.
I wonder if the German guy who’s just parked next to us is that tolerant, too. The rain has finally stopped—it’s just before 8:00 PM. Hilde is staring at the door as if that alone will make it open. But I have to get dressed first.
Hilde wants to keep walking, even though we’re already soaking wet. The neighbor actually comes over after a minute, but I reassure him that the engine won't be running all night.
There’s a large aluminum factory next door. When they run their machines at night, it sounds like an airplane taking off. He’s got that to look forward to.
After I’ve finished eating everything, I find a pair of scissors, a mirror, two disposable razors, and a light.
And a woman in an orange coat is wandering around looking like an orange on a winter holiday. She apparently wanted to read the sign—which, I believe, says you should take a dog waste bag. The days of wrestling with bags are over; instead, the blue bus gurgles whenever it rains. And either my stomach is rumbling, or there’s a new water source inside the bodywork.
Be that as it may, here’s to a good night for us all.Read more
