Day 2 - Borda to Roncesvalles

Today was super cold, but no rain! Karen met me out front of my accommodation with a new friend - Mo from the USA!

The views were spectacular even with the mist. Giant birds hover & glide, cute lil black faced sheep are stacked up the sides of the mountains & horses wearing their clunky cow bells, were happily grazing by the roadside.

Despite there not really being any trees at the top, the sound of the birds trilling was just beautiful!! It was definitely a 'sounds of music' moment.

Roncesvalles is an old monastery that sleeps over 300 pilgrims... we arrived here around 2pm ... I was allocated a top bunk - not ideal - but a bed is a bed! I guess if I can climb the Pyrenees, surely I can climb a small bed ladder, right? 🤔

As I sit up here typing this at 9.30pm... I can already hear several snorers ...definitely going to be a night for the ear plugs!

For dinner, we are split up into 3 restaurants in the village... we were served soup, pasta & chicken. At 8pm, we went to the Pilgrims mass and received a blessing!! 🙏
