• Lazy sunday in Syðrugøta

    11月2日, フェロー諸島 ⋅ ⛅ 7 °C

Woke up hearing some voices in the living room — turned out the Icelanders had made breakfast and set the table.

We’d all planned to go to the sauna by the beach and swim in the sea. Around 14:00, Theodor made sure the sauna was warmed up.

On our walk down to the beach, we heard some tapping on a window — it was Eivør’s mom! She invited Chloé and me in for some coffee.

We had a lovely coffee with her, and soon Eivør, her husband, and her brother joined us as well.

We continued our walk and were the first ones to reach the sauna. Not long after, the others joined. We had great chats and went into the ocean three times. Because of the storm, there was a lot of seaweed we had to wade through first.

This is the famous beach where the big G! Festival is held — everyone talks about it, and it’s definitely something I want to experience one day.

Afterwards, I relaxed in my room and took a shower.

Sigvör and Theo made an amazing Faroese salmon dinner with potatoes and salads for everyone. Jan Runi and Theo’s family also joined. It was such a delicious meal and a cozy ending for Chloé and the Icelanders.

Eivør joined us for dessert because Sigvör had made an apple, berry, and rhubarb crumble with cream.

Full of food, rosy from the wine and good company, everyone went to bed early. I said goodbye to Chloé — she’ll leave early in the morning for her flight, along with the Icelanders.
