Checked into The Phoenician. Excellent resort 🏊 🍹 ⛳️ It was great to meet with our NY buddies!!

We hung out by the pool and ordered lunch poolside. Best poolside food I have eaten. Lamb Gyro 🍡 was the best.

In the evening we meet at the lobby bar overlooking the pool. Looked beautiful in the blue lights.

Dinner at the hotel restaurant Mowry & Cotton. Sat in the lobby bar before retreating to the rooms.

Day at the Resort

We spent most of the morning in the pool 🏊 ⛱.

Lunch at the Tavern overlooking the ⛳️golf⛳️ course. Excellent food.

The girls 💆💆 went to the Spa. he kids for 🎳bowling🎳. And the boys 👲 for an afternoon siesta 😴.

The kids met with us in the Old town for dinner. We didn’t have a dinner reservation so decided to go to PF Changs.

After dinner kids went back to the resort and we partied in the Old Town. We started at The Casa Amigos 🕺💃 and then ended at The Bottled Blonde 👱. This seemed to be party destination for Scottsdale with a line of bars and nightclubs. No fears of COVID all the places were packed and no one had a mask on!Read more

Pool party at The Maya

After a crazy night of partying, it was a late start to the day. We spent the morning by the pool and lunch was by the pool side again.

The kids booked the game room 🎮 which included pool and ping pong table 🏓, arcade games, etc etc.

And the adults headed to Maya for a day pool party. This was a crazy place with a full on spring break party happening. 🏝🍻🕺👯‍♀️.

Hours of partying made us hungry, we then ate street tacos 🌮 sitting on the street. And some great GF pizza. 🍕

After that, thanks to Andy, a Punjabi dude drove us to the hotel in a golf cart 🛺 through the streets of Scottsdale blasting Punjabi music. Another unique one only happens with Andy!!

After a long day we met with the kids at the pool. And then retired to the rooms early.Read more

Day in Prescott

We rented a car 🚘 and headed to Prescott (about 100 miles away) for a day trip.

We left around 10am and reached there around. The plan was to go hiking 🚶but decided to eat lunch first. Today was Easter Sunday, after some difficulty finding a place to eat, we landed at an Italian restaurant 🍽. And we were pleasantly surprised with the great food.

After lunch we headed to the Watson Lake Park. Once there no one felt like hiking because it was the hottest part of the day and we had just finished a heavy meal. After a little encouragement we hiked down to the lake and climbed the rock formations in the lake.

After spending an hour at the lake we headed back to Scottsdale. In the evening we changed and headed to Fat Ox for dinner. This was recommended by one of Andy’s buyer. This was the best dinner in terms of experience. Lots of laughing 🤣 at Andy’s expense; Thank You Jesus, and a couple of bottles 🍾 of Caymus definitely helped.

We retired to the lobby bar for a few more before going to bed 🛌.

Relaxing Day at the Resort

After a few tiring days, we decided to spend the day at the resort by the pool ⛱. We had a very relaxing day, sipping cocktails 🍹 and lunch by the poolside. Did I say the lamb gyros 🍡 were good 😋! After lunch there were more cocktails and swimming.

The kids spent the afternoon in the game room. And all the adults took an afternoon nap.

The dinner was at Francine. Fancy Mediterranean / French restaurant....another recommendation from Andy's buyer.

This was the last evening together 🙁 before the New Yorkers went back and we to Sedona. We sat in the lobby bar for sometime we retiring to our rooms.

Travel to Sedona

We decided to meet for breakfast before departing to our respective destinations. It was sad 😔 to see our trip coming to an end.

We drove🚦 to Sedona and checked into our hotel🏩, Sedona Rouge Hotel and Spa. We ate light lunch and decided to go for a hike🚶🚶.

The Cathedral Rock hike was closed as the parking was full and we end up at the Little Horse trail by chance. After a two hour hike we went to the Creekside Bistro for dinner. The food was excellent...better than some of the fancy restaurants we ate at in Scottsdale but we missed 😔 our friends.

Devil’s Bridge Trail

We woke up early....very challenging for us! While Shailaja and kids were getting ready I picked up breakfast burritos 🌯 for us to eat at the trail. We reached the Mescal parking 🏞 by 8am just in time to find only a few parking spots left.

Once we were parked we ate our breakfast before heading for a hike. The 🌄views🌄 of the Red Rocks were breathtaking and the weather was great. We got some great pics.

This is the busiest hike in Sedona. Devils Bridge is the largest natural sandstone arch. Most of the hike is moderate but at the end the climb is steep. By the time we reached the Devil's Bridge, there was already a long line to take pictures on the bridge. We were able to get to the front to take pictures but decided not to wait in the line as we had to get to our Jeep Tour scheduled for later in the afternoon. The views 🌅 from the top were amazing.

From start to end we finished the hike in less than 3 hours.

At the Creekside Bistro, we met a local at the bar who gave us some good tips about the Devil's Bridge trail. He asked us to park at the Mescal Trail parking and take that trail to Devil's Bridge. This helps avoid the mad rush if had packed at the Devi's Bridge Trail parking. It is more scenic and shorter.

Pink Jeep Tour - Broken Arrow

We stopped at the hotel for a quick change and then headed to the Uptown Sedona for our Pink Jeep Tour. https://www.pinkadventuretours.com/sedona-tours…

We had a quick lunch at the Momo's Kitchen, a Korean food truck. This is was a good change from all the restaurants were eating at. Eating rice after a week was a blessing.

Jeep Tour was quite an experience... an exhilarating off-road adventure in unique pink jeeps. Basically, it was a two-hour roller-coaster ride. Our driver and tour guide, Randy was wonderful. not sure how he managed to talk and drive us through the tough off-road terrain.

Randy was very informative, he explained the local wildlife, history of the tour company, local history, as well as information about the jeep. Took us to some beautiful vista points, stopped, and then took great pictures for all of us. Some of these included: Chicken Point, which was named after the fact that if you couldn't drive your jeep around the edge you were a chicken; and Panorama 3 (adopted the name from the movie that was filmed there), where we could see the submarine rock.

Sunset & Dinner

After the Jeep 🚙 Tour we were planning to go to the Sedona Airport Overlook for the sunset but Randy asked us to avoid it due to the crowds. Instead he asked us to go the Devil's Bridge Trail parking lot. Even though this is jammed packed in the morning 🌄, in the evening 🌒 there were only a few cars.

We were lucky to avoid the crowds and get some amazing views 🌅 of the sunset. This was the perfect opportunity for pictures and we took MANY.

After the sunset we went back to Tortas De Fuego for Mexican food.

Travel back to California

We packed and then went to the Tlaquepaque Village for a quick breakfast. We ate at the Secret Garden Cafe and the food was amazing. We had visited this place in 2016. Took some pics in the same spots as 2016. and bought some gifts. After breakfast, we drove to Phoenix and took our flight back to San Francisco.
