    Laura to Running Creek

    22 июня 2024 г., Австралия ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Red Goshawks building new nest on west-east section of Lilyvale Road, near old nest site. Female preening well in view, undisturbed by our presence. Told Lama Lama and QPWS rangers.

Another likely looking nest - Buzzard? - approx 4km down the northern section of Lilyvale Rd.

Camped at campsite 1 (Dugong) in the campground operated by Lama Lama (Yintjingga) rangers. Direct beach front on Princess Charlotte Bay. Enormous vista. No one else around. Beach Stone-curlew on beach in front of us, 4 Eastern Curlew, 6 Whimbrel, plus assorted waterbirds, terns. Definitely a wintering ground for Numenius...!

Share bird list below with Lama Lama rangers. Email Alison @ Port Stewart Rangers (to give to Sam)
