    Llao Llao

    October 30, 2022 in Argentina ⋅ 🌙 5 °C

Today a more relaxed ride through the big resort of Bariloche, home to a famous centre for atomic science, and regional fulcrum of activity. Superb views of the crystal-blue lake surrounded by snowy mountains.

Passing by an elementary school we marvel, as a few times already in Chile, at the decoration of the school, prepared from recycled objects: here pieces of glass and poetry.

This evening we are guests of an ebulliant woman, Adriana, whom we understand, after many jokes, from her strange accent and helped by a little memorial on the wall, that her parents were from Slovenia... she explains that the snow we had afew days ago (end October) is called "tulip snow" as snow falls on already blooming gardens. Patagonia is another melting pot, of yet different flavour than the USA, many came from e.g. Germany to Chile, from Italy to Argentina... which actually comes from the Italian name for silver.

Next morning early, blue sky and sun shine. We rally the quiet harbour of Llao Llao, ready to embark for our next big passage!
