Sugar Shed

Today, we did both the sugar and rum tour. The tour was packed with information about the history of the cane farms in Sarina and the surrounding areas, as well as how sugar is made, from planting to table. We learned how the sugar mill works, from the old to the new, and the entire sugar process, from growing to products, and the history and machinery used. We also learned how sugarcane and sugar products are made, with tastings of raw sugarcane, sugar juice, and rum.
