• Mount Stanley - Victoria

    February 14, 2025 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Mount Stanley lookout is a hidden gem that most travellers are unaware of. Follow the winding road for just ten kilometres south of Beechworth in Victoria, and you will come across the small village of Stanley.
We followed Mt Stanley Road until we reached the summit.

The narrow gravel road we travelled was in good condition, and we encountered no problems with other traffic, particularly log and gravel trucks.
The reward was a spectacular 360-degree view of the Victorian Alps and lovely wildflowers.

In 1932, a steel lookout tower was built on the summit for fire detection, one of the first built in Victoria.
The mountain has an elevation of 1050 metres, and on a clear day, the views are awesome, especially from a drone's perspective.
