  • Raymond Creek Falls

    1 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ 🌧 12 °C

Raymond Creek is in the Snowy River National Park, its 38 km to the campground over a gravel road and a 2 km walk to the Falls, which is a moderate walk downhill, the big killer is the 135 stairs, once you get there the falls plunge 20 metres onto jagged rocks below and then flows into a deep pool below. Unfortunately, it was overcast and drizzling when we got there, so it wasn't the greatest lighting for taking photos, but I did enjoy the experience.Okumaya devam et

  • Great Alpine Road

    2 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

Went on the Great Alpine Road today, which runs from Bairnsdale in the east to Wangaratta in the north, passing through the Victorian Alps. What a beautiful country we live in.

Stopped at Mount Kosciuszko's lookout but unfortunately wasn't able to see due to cloud coverage. Had a look a Dinner Plain but didn't stop, nowhere to park. Next, we headed to Hotham, but when we got to the checkpoint, we were turned around as we weren't carrying any chains for the tyres.

To look on the bright side, at least I got to play in the snow, something that I finally got to experience, and I am sure I will get to experience it again during our travels. Phil was able to get drone footage.

  • Monday , Lake Entrance

    3 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

It was pretty much a relaxing day today. First, we went for a walk along the lake, then over Cunninghame Arm Bridge which takes you over to Lake Entrance beach, back again, stopped at a coffee shop for morning tea and another stroll along the lake, this time to look at some of the carved wooden sculptures (they were carved to honour the memory of our First World War Dead and Injured), after that went for a drive around the area, then back to the caravan for the remainder of the day.Okumaya devam et

  • Tuesday, Lake Entrance

    4 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ ☁️ 8 °C

Went exploring today, more like a drive, started at Bunnings in Bairnsdale to get some supplies, then we walked around the town before we stopped and had morning tea, Bairnsdale has no shopping centre and all your major department stores are in the main street, next we went to Eagle Point lookout but it was too overcast to see anything. Our next destination was Mitchell River Silt Jetties Gippsland Lake reserve, where I had the privilege of capturing a Peregrine Falcon on video. Spoke with an elderly couple about our drone, they were very interested in what you can do with it. Visited Sunset Cove which is in Paynesville and took some photographs of some black swans. Stopped at Den of Nargun which is located in Mitchell River National Park, wasn't able to do the 3 km loop walk due to the track being slippery and wet, but would have liked to. Finally back at the caravan for dinner and a raspberry smoothie.Okumaya devam et

  • Traralgon

    5 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

Another miserable day, can't complain weather has been good to us up until now. Drove to Traralgon for a look, did some shopping, and purchased 2 long sleeve shirts for when we go to Tassie. Lunch was at Green Olive, and I had chicken parmigiana, which was very nice. After lunch, head back to the caravan park.Okumaya devam et

  • Last Day - Lake Entrance

    6 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ ☀️ 9 °C

Today is our last day in Lake Entrance so we decided to make the most of it and went for a drive. We stopped in at local areas like Red Bluff, Lake Tyers and Buchan.

We saw a sign that pointed to McKillops Bridge, which is located inside the Snowy River National Park, so we decided to go have a look. Unbeknown to us most of the road was mainly gravel, very narrow, steep and challenging, and some sections were a little hair-raising.

The round trip from Lakes Entrance to McKillops Bridge and then back via Orbost with places we stopped at took us nearly 6 hours and just over 341 km.

  • Little River Falls

    6 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ ☀️ 9 °C

Little River Falls was the first stop on our way to McKillops Bridge. It was just a short walk from the road. It is very pretty with lots of little cascades that provided a good photo opportunity

There is a 400 metre walking path to the top of the falls, which we only notice as we were leaving.

  • Little River Gorge

    6 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ ☀️ 10 °C

We stopped at the Little River Gorge lookout on our way to Mckillops Bridge. Beautiful spot with breathtaking views. A 400-metre walk to the lookout which is all downhill, but worth it, this place is a hidden gem. It is Victoria's deepest gorge.

The gorge is 4 km long and up to 500 metres deep. Wulgulmerang Creek plunges 300 metres from its partially
hidden chasm in the gorge wall opposite the lookout.

  • Inverloch

    7 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

On the road again, our stay in Lake Entrance has come to an end, we are now heading to Inverloch where will we be for the week. Halfway to our destination, Phil stopped to take a picture, no surprises there, when he got back into the car he handed me a daisy, he is so sweet and romantic.

Finally arrived at the caravan park, and to our disappointment we didn't get a drive-through site as we asked for, after a few hiccups, thanks to myself we had the van parked and set up.

After we settle in, we went and got some groceries. To my surprise Phil managed to get me some free flowers, they were Lily's which he knows are my favourite.

Now back at the caravan site, I utilise a large cup to put my flowers in as we don't have a vase.

Now it is time to put our feet up and relax, tomorrow is a New day.

  • Saturday - Inverloch

    8 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ 🌬 12 °C

Today was not the best day for exploring. It is very windy and cold, and there were showers on and off. This afternoon, the weather cleared up for a while, so I went for a walk to explore the foreshore, I left Phil in the caravan with his computer.

While out on my walk, I came across an Old Sea Wall, which was built in the 1930s. An area that looked like it was an old pier and a Pacific Gull. The day would not be complete without a photo of some type of bird or animal.

Another miserable day in Inverloch, instead of mopping in the caravan we went for a drive over to Phillip Island. First we stopped at San Remo for breakfast and had Chai Latte and a Ruffin (which is a muffin, egg & bacon).Okumaya devam et

    9 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ 🌧 13 °C

Pyramid Rock is a triangle-shaped rock that rises out of the Bass Straight, just off the southern coast of Phillip Island.

When we got there visibility was poor and it was raining. Suddenly the rain stopped and the sun came out. This place is wild and beautiful, with amazing waves crashing against the rocks.Okumaya devam et

  • The Nobbies - Phillip Island

    9 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ 🌧 13 °C

The Nobbies are dome-shaped rock formations off the coast of Phillip Island that provide an important home to the island's Little Penguins. They also have Australia's largest colony of fur seals, an impressive sea cave known as the Blowhole. There are wildlife tours that you can book, and they also have the Penguin parade at dusk. While I was there I captured a Little Penguin Chick, waiting patiently for its mother to return, and some Cape Barren geese.Okumaya devam et

  • Mount Nicoll Lookout

    10 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ 🌬 13 °C

I wasn't sure what to expect, but wow, great views across the farmland and inlet across to Wilsons Prom are stunningly beautiful.

A short 200m walk from the carpark to the lookout, it is narrow and steep and a bit slippery in some places.Okumaya devam et

  • Agnes falls

    10 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ 🌬 13 °C

On your way to Agnes Falls, you drive through beautiful farmland to this hidden gem of a waterfall, it has a spectacular gorge with a little pocket of bush. There are a few viewing angles of the falls, but difficult to see with trees in the way, to see the entire falls and gorge, but is stunning nonetheless, mother nature at its best.Okumaya devam et

  • Rhyll Inlet - Phillip Island

    11 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ ☀️ 13 °C

Went to go see the Rhyll Inlet today, and we found that the lookout closed when we got halfway, we have been finding this a lot with the National Parks, they need to put the signs up near the main entrance, not halfway. I did manage to take photos of the surrounding area.

This is what I found out about Rhyll Inlet

Rhyll Inlet forms part of Western Port, which is listed as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention. This intergovernmental treaty supports national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources.

  • Wilson Promontory

    12 Temmuz 2023, Avustralya ⋅ ☀️ 12 °C

Wilsons Promontory is a refuge for an array of native wildlife, including kangaroos, emus, wombats, echidnas, and numerous species of birds, most prominent among which are the Rosellas. The park is highly popular with bushwalkers and campers.

A lot of the hiking tracks are about 2-4 hours to return, we weren't able to do a lot of exploring as The Prom is quite large, and photos taken are from lookouts that were only a short distance away from the carpark.

If you want to experience Wilson's Promontory, I suggest you spend a week or two. This way you can enjoy the experience, and explore the area. It is an amazing place.
