• 07.01 Day 113 . . . Scratchings!

    7 января 2023 г., Франция ⋅ 🌧 7 °C

So I woke at about 8am to a bedroom glowing red. I dashed to the window to see a beautiful morning sunrise. The photos just didn’t do it justice.
As is the norm for the Princess now, she woke at just gone 9.45am . . . Which to be fair was slightly earlier than previous days.
We scuttled downstairs to grab some breakfast and had a look at Teresa’s laptop at the same time - her emails weren’t arriving, although they were on her phone. We decided I needed longer to look at it later.
After breakfast we drove to SuperU at Melle to get supplies for the arrival of Dids tomorrow.
Whilst shopping we heard a very recognisable Newcastle accent shout to us and turned to find Gilly and Paul behind us. We then spent the best part of 3/4hr chatting about what had been going on since our last catch up.
Pork was the big offer in SuperU for the day, pigs heads and pigs trotters included in the fridges. We grabbed two massive pieces of pork belly which would probably do us about 4 meals, I also snaffled and hid some pork rind into the trolley so I could make some home made pork scratchings in the air fryer when home.
After the shop we headed home - it was raining!!
Once home I spent about an hour fiddling with the settings on Tre’s laptop, finally getting the accounts to refresh and her emails flowing in again. I think the laptop needs an update but we daren’t do that on the wifi we have at ours currently.
All working Tre was able to book Did’s in for his flight out to us the following day. We also got an update from Kate that she had got some Dr Martens, along the same line as Tre’s . . . But in floral. The Dr Marten club has commenced.
I then set about scoring and salting some pork rind before popping it in the air fryer.
Hey presto 15minutes later we had lovely (and warm) pork scratchings.
So the evening was then prepped for an episode of The Killing followed by a little bit of footy - Liverpool v Wolves . . . beer and pork scratchings.
Some evenings are simple and perfect.
