Day 52: Fighting off dogs on Chiloë

    February 28, 2016 in Chile ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Again the choice ripio or asphalt. Like always we chose the ripio. The whole day was up and down on the bad gravel roads of Chiloë. With slopes of more than 20% it was tough. But a lot of fun as well. Taking the backroads instead of the Pan-Am highway, we came trough a lot of smalls Chiloëan towns. a good way to see the everyday chilean rural life. The downside of the small towns was the dogs. Driving trough a town all the dogs started barking. Some of them even started running after us, and not in a nice playfull way, We've learned that screaming at a dog scares them off most off the time. But sometimes we had to slowdown or even stop and trow rocks before the dogs stoped treathening to bite our legs. But we made it to mainland Chile again in one piece. Tomorow we ride to Puerto mont. To restock before going north again.Read more
