This is a nice river to follow along into the heartland. Nice to go past houses I have previously lived in over the many years.
First break

A first break after cycling along the wind. Is it always only really headwinds? :-) Feeling good on the bike though, this is nice to be on the move - and enjoying a nice home made sandwich!

Nice little spot by the river, just off Verden. This is within sniffing distance of where my bicycle was manufactured, I think in Hoya.

Made it to Minden, the promised land of the outdoor shop, with 20 minutes to spare. Snapped up a new exped, and the guy was good enough to throw in a neat discount.

Whoa hey, found a beautiful sandy bar overlooking the river! Set up tent and the new mattress.
Clear skies, dry night, and a full hip flask. This is a great camp feeling!

Weird tree this all over the place. With no leaves, but spherical clumps of green. Not sure what this is.

The twin towers of the nuclear power station stand out over the surrounding plains, green and innocuous. I'm not in a protest, but I'm camping here anyway in the warm light of German sustainableBaca lagi
