    I’ve been delayed in posting for Flåm because I had to make some calls first. For which you will soon understand why.
    I was really wanting some nice pictures or Jackson and I so Sreejith one of the photographers said he would go out in port to take some photos. We chose Flåm and decided to hike up the mountain to the waterfall. We got up bright and early, went and got some bikes from the crew office and headed out. It was a very long and tiring hike to the top and we took photos all the way up. When we reached the top and were in front of the waterfall Jackson got down on one knee and pulled out a little black box. He had been thinking hard about exactly what he was going to say and completely forgot all of it. What he came up with though was still sweet when he told me he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Obviously I said yes.Læs mere

    Today was a day of trying and failing to get ahold of most of my family to tell them about our engagement. I also went on a tour for work to the briksdal glacier where it poured or was insanely windy all day. Another ship that was anchored offshore literally got blown away. A also got a bee sting on my neck.
    The only positive today was I got to finish work early and three of us got dressed up and went for dinner in Beach House, one of the restaurants on the ship. Next cruise Jackson and I plan on going for dinner together as well.    Læs mere

    A busy day today with the regular turn-around duties plus someone from the office coming on in the morning to meet with the whole team. Today marks the start of another Strictly Come Dancing cruise that will be VERY busy. With the Strictly events plus 11 weddings in the 2 weeks. Luckily we are a full team again and the two photographers that joined have been on this ship before so they are ready to go.Læs mere

    Loving getting off the ship for a bit today even though it's a quick trip off. It's been so busy with all the weddings and Strictly events. All we have time for today is some wifi and lunch at a Shawarma place but it's so nice to be on land again for a bit with nothing to do.
    Jackson and I were planning on going for a nice dinner for our engagement this cruise but once again we found out last night that his deck privileges were denied. Making things even better he doesn't get any days off this cruise so we were thinking that we weren't going to be able to get off at all this cruise but we've managed to run off for a bit today.     Today was a tender port because the port was under construction. Crew shore leave wasn't granted until 2pm because of another ship having technical problems in the morning when they were leaving resulting in us being late dropping anchor offshore. Then on top of that we also had a problem with a tender.
    I had training starting at 2pm so I wasn't able to get off today. I've never been to Monte Carlo before so I would have loved to be able to get off but I didn't expect to be able to with it being a tender port and having the early start. Hopefully next time we are back in a couple weeks I can get off then and the port will be ready so we can dock.    Læs mere

    I'm IPM today so I can't get off. Today was suppose to be crew rounds where they inspect our cabins and crew drills. Last night however I think it was just before 2am a medical response announcement for a medical emergency was announced. When Jackson went to work this morning he found out that a passenger unfortunately passed away resulting in rounds and drills being cancelled. So back to sleep for me until work tonight.Læs mere

    Got off quickly this morning with Jackson. We stopped by a small supermarket to pick up snacks for the cabin and then went to the Red Lion again for a breakfast of omelettes. We remembered it from last time because of the great omelettes and wifi. After that I had to head back to the ship for a shoot with some of the strictly guys. Jackson headed to pick up his sun glasses that he forgot last time we were here.Læs mere

    The last 3 days definitely have not gone as planned. Yesterday was our photomania (last day of the cruise where it’s super busy with everyone wanting their photos that they had all cruise to pick up). This however was a particularly crazy photomania. So crazy we had a line all the way through our gallery and the bar beside us. To the point where we had to recruit some help. The shops came to our aid, we had the reception manager and even the hotel auditor came and helped. We got there in the end but there was a lot of confusion and people all over the place along the way.
    Then the day before that we had to turn the ship around and make an unscheduled stop in Vigo. We had a sick passenger who needed immediate medical attention. Which meant that today we docked late.
    Jackson and I had made plans to go out together again today but as usual our plans had to change. I worked later then we normally do on turnaround days because of the late docking. Then I got to experience something a little different. The Seaman from Pakistan who died during the cruise was being sent home today. They were bringing him off the ship and wanted it filmed for his family. All the seaman and officers lined the quayside as he was escorted off followed by prayers from his fellow seaman. I tried my best to film everything for his family without being to intrusive well his friends said goodbye. I hope the video gives them some comfort in knowing he was well cared for.    Læs mere

    Everyone was looking forward to a very much needed day of rest today until we found out we had crew rounds and drills this morning. It finished around 11:30 and then I think most people just went to bed. I got the nice surprise of being able to go out with Jackson for at least an hour after drills. So we are currently camped out at a Starbucks near the ship. Not the most exciting thing but we both needed wifi and didn’t have much time. We are both enjoying our hot chocolates and ham and cheese croissants though.Læs mere

    FINALLY A DAY OFF TOGETHER!!!!! Jackson always starts work at 8am or 9am so we slept in, getting off the ship around 11. We wandered down the harbour front. Finding a Tandoori restaurant called Tajmahal but it didn’t open until 1pm. So up the big mountain we went, 418 steps to the top. We stopped for a quick break just over halfway and met up with the deputy captain and his family. At the top I offered to take a picture of them so he returned the favour and his adorable kids photobombed us. We ran into Chris (manager) and James (ex-manager/current communications manager) when we were just about to head back down. Chris decided it would be fun to show me they walked up not took the train by chasing me trying to wipe his sweaty forehead on me.
    When we made it back to the bottom we still had a bit of time before the restaurant opened so we wandered around some shops. It eventually opened and we both enjoyed our meals (butter chicken & chicken tikka masala) but Jackson wished his was a bit spicer.    Læs mere

    Another busy turn-around of meetings in the morning with the office and then straight into embarkation photos, followed by passenger drills and then straight into the gallery for the evening. Tonight was an early finish at 10pm though. We have the same thing tomorrow with it being a casual sea-day so we've planned a team dinner.Læs mere

    Had a GREAT day today. I love Barcelona and Jackson got the day off again. We slept in a bit and then headed out for lunch. We've looked every time we've come for an Indian restaurant but was never able to find one. Today it took about 5 minutes to find one called Rajah and it was really good! They made everything none spicy for me and spicy for Jackson so we both really enjoyed it. It was so much food however that I couldn't even eat half of mine. Luckily it made a good dinner later.
    After lunch we wandered a little bit and then just walked along the harbour. Sitting watching the fish in the water for a while before heading back to the ship for work.

    Drill and crew rounds today so I took my IPM today as well. Drills took forever and then I had to go to the office to start planning next cruise. Today is a long day but tomorrow I have the entire day off. I took the night off tomorrow so Jackson and I can finally have our engagement dinner. His deck privileges were FINALLY approved.Læs mere

    After getting ourselves COMPLETELY lost well watch shopping we stumbled across the ruins of an old Roman temple and old windmills. If we needed to find it again we would never have been able to because we found our way back by just picking a direction and waking and then randomly deciding to change directions again. We did eventually find our way back to the Main Street though where we are now at CottonGrill again for lunch. I got chicken and bacon nachos again and Jackson tried Singapore noodles. He didn’t like his (too salty) so he’s helping me eat mine. Watch shopping didn’t work out today so I’ll has to try and get off tomorrow in Gibraltar.Læs mere

    Actually got off the ship and walked all the way into Gibraltar for the first time today. We usually just get off and walk to the restaurant that Jackson's friend works at or to a bar nearby that makes great omelettes and has good wifi.
    Today though I walked 25 minutes into town where all the shops are looking for a new watch since I broke mine about a week ago. After searching shops for over an hour I gave up and had to head back to the ship. I need a digital one for the timer and alarm and the only ones I could find were fit-bits.
    It was an early sail so I had to start work at 12.    Læs mere

    I was IPM today but I put myself on IPM knowing I wouldn't be able to get off today. Today was a day of hauling paper and ink all over the ship and paperwork. Jackson couldn't get off today either because of work but next Southampton we both plan on actually getting off together and doing the old tradition of Standing Orders for lunch.Læs mere
