The Criterion - Rockhampton.

The Bush Inn was Rockhampton's first hotel, built in 1858 on the site now occupied by the Criterion Hotel. This occured soon after the declaration of the settlement Rockhampton. In 1862 the Bush Inn was enlarged and renamed the Criterion. The interior of the building is preserved in the style in which it was originally built. It also hosts it's own house ghost, believed to be a chambermaid who, it is claimed, committed suicide in room 22 following a broken heart.
