• Breakfast on second morning

    Shannon National Park

    17 maj 2023, Australien ⋅ ☁️ 13 °C

It was beautiful day when we left home this morning. An hour away from the campsite, dark clouds seemed to gather. When we got to Shannon National Park campsite the heavens opened.
There was a frenzied attempt to find accommodation in Manjimup or Pemberton but to no avail.
We finally decided to brave the rain, and pitched our tent in record time. Also another first, we used our front flap of the tent as an awning to sit under instead of taking refuge in our car as we have done many times before.
Dinner was simple sandwich courtesy of my daughter's Mother's Day dinner leftovers. It was much too wet and we couldn't be bothered to set up the stove to cook.
A walk in the dark looking for the toilet, we chanced upon a fairy mushroom patch.
Since it's cold and wet and starless night, we are going to turn in early.
