• Hike to Donnelly River Village

    After a big breakfast we set out on a 22km hike from Willow Springs campsite to Donnelly River village and back on the Bibbilmun Track.
    When we started the hike, it was freezing, however the undulating terrain soon warmed us up and it was lovely to hike in the karri forest. Ruby found out first bunny orchid on this trip.
    Donnelly River Village was an old logging village and the general store served yummy burgers and cooked food.
    After a yummy lunch and proper coffee, we headed back to the campsite. The return journey was hard and very tiring. We were glad to get back just before dark.
    When we got back to the campsite, we weren't the only campers anymore.
    There was a couple travelling from Victoria and a couple and their son from the UK.
    Even though the couple from UK lit a roaring fire, we turned in early because we were exhausted.
