The Passchendaele museum has great reproduced trenches but for the real thing check this museum. Real trenches, real tunnels, real craters. A perfectly preserved little area.
The location of the Memorial to the 5th Australian Division and the Polygon Wood Cemetery.
Vandaag gaan we ongeveer 50 km fietsen. De Vredesroute. Klaar voor de start... af!
As Hill 60 was to British and Australian forces, Hill 62 was to the Canadians. Though less explosions were used.
In Belgium we went to a farm where when someone got back from a holiday there farm had a trench it was just amazing what it all looked like we got to go inside the Trenches were the soldiers fought.
We weren't very impressed with this stop. It's not at the location and was a bit to modern for our taste.

Traveler We found visiting the battlefields and museums an incredibly moving experience. The magnitude of it all is mind blowing. Such devastation.
