Unusually for May the skies were blue and weather dry
Attracting many visitors including other friends nearby.
The beautiful rugged cliffs full with birds of the sea
Fullers, terns, gannets and even puffins we did see.

Brisk clifftop walks serenaded with seabird sounds
Along to the ruins of Slain Castle windswept grounds.
Visits to the Scottish Lighthouse Museum, we had a few
Extremely informative and interesting with a perfect view.

Fishing villages like Crovie and Pennan are quite charming
Whose stone homes along the coastline steadfastly cling.
Air pungent with salt, ozone, seaweed and crustaceans
Waves constantly carving out intriguing rock formations.

Like the Needles Eye, aside Talair pool, newly renovated
On finding Aikey Brae stone circle, we ritually celebrated.
Numerous meals for family and friends lovingly prepared
Riotous afternoons laughing over old memories shared.
