    Visit to Seppelt Great Westrern

    I had visited this winery before yet had never understood all of the history involved in how it operates today.
    It produces sparkling wines and has done for 100 plus years.
    The winery is now mostly a historical museum that houses wine barrels and equipment from yesteryear however they do have special dinner settings with paired wines that make visiting the place so special.
    The winery sits atop of a massive deposit of soft limestone which was initially dug out in the forlorn search for gold, however because the digging was relatively easy it allowed the winery to develop a chamber of wine storage areas that it appears had been used for a very long time. One such section even had a locked gate as it housed the most expensive wines that Seppelt had to offer.
