Katia and Zenia are from Belarus. Katia was a competitor and became a young dancer and transitioned to choreography. Zenia’s background is deeply tied to the evolution of Para Dance Sport (wheelchair ballroom dancing) in Eastern Europe. Belarus has historically been an international powerhouse in this specific sport, supported by state-level athletic training programs. Zenia’s training required expertise different physical mechanics than traditional dancers (core stabilization, rapid chair propulsion, and manipulating center-of-gravity physics) to perfectly match a standing partner's speed and rotation. He rose through the international ranks by competing in Para Dance Sport World Cups and European Championships, culminating in winning the World Wheelchair Ballroom Dance Championship.
