    Funky Little Town

    March 15, 2023 in Peru ⋅ 🌧 18 °C

Aguas Calientes is a really interesting little town. 4500 people live here and all are for the tourism of Machu Picchu. It is lively with so many restaurants, shops, hot springs, hotels, hostels and of course the bustle of all the excited tourists going up to and coming down from the mountain.
The river dividing the two sides is rushing with rapids, can be heard from all over town and is the beginning of the Amazon River. There are statues along the boulevard of the 13 famous Inca Kings. Everyone was so happy to see the tourists back. Next time we will visit the hot springs.
