Chili - Rapa Nui (Ile de Paques)

      January 1, 2020 in Chile ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

There are many faults and the self correction brings out silly things. Sorry, it will not change. Truus gives me hell about this, I get used to it.

Easter island was discover by a Dutch sailor 17hundert and something on Easter Sunday
      That is why the name

      How it got to Chile?

The empire was afraid to loose interest in the pacific and told their alliac Chile to take care about this, and the did.

Till 2002 only origins could Buy land, now it is allowed to Chilean citizen

      We were wondering
About the long and excellent done runway at the airport.
It was done by the nasa as and emergency landing strip for a space shuttle

Easter island is rich in ….
Potholes in the roads, we didn’t count them, it must be a million!
Driving here is a good training for slalom skiing
The only good road on the island was built by the US from the Harbour to the airport for transportation of material.

      Ahu Tahai

      December 6, 2023 in Chile ⋅ 🌬 68 °F

Last stop of the day. It's not like I didn't believe Bruno when he said the hats were actually hair, like a top knot, but he sure (unintentionally) showed me he was right. I didn't get to walk over to the other side, it was a quicker stop than I expected but it's supposed to be close to my hotel. In fact, this was the first suggestion of the hotel owner. I was just a little tired and went around too quickly haha.Read more
