Ely and Newmarket

The ride out of Ely on NCR11 is possibly the prettiest I’ve been on - past the cathedral, through two parks and then following rivers and dykes for 7 miles. At Wicken we followed good tracks through Wicken Fen which is National Trust maintained. -(—)-

Newmarket interesting: a dominant horse racing culture makes the town. Flat turned to hilly as we followed NCR51 to Bury St Edmunds. The heat was too great to cycle further and we took the train to Ipswich to get to Martin and Giovanna’s. Bangladeshi curry for tea.Læs mere
