After looking at homes in the Denver, NC area and a stop at Olde Hickory Brewery and Taproom, we planned to go to explore Grandfather Mountain, but rain clouds kept us away for fear our picnic would turn soggy. So we postponed that adventure to our upcoming October Weekend and, instead, enjoyed our time at Grandfather Vineyard & Winery, where it was twenty-four degrees cooler than Charlotte with NO rain!Read more

Surprisingly, this was our first time at Childress Vineyards. The vineyards, winery, restaurant, and pavilion were all very well done, and the music by Time Sawyer was...relaxing. And of course great wine!

These were our first visits to all three of these breweries, and all three had some great beers, especially the Black Blaze Milk Stout at Blue Blaze, the Imperial Tele-Porter (Bourbon Barrel-Aged) and Awkward Indonesian Guava Sour Ale at Unknown, and The Dude Imbibes Rum Barrel-Aged Stout at Triple C

All good things must come to an end. We spent our last day in Italy meandering the streets of Sorrento, winding our way down to the marinas as we breathed in as much of Italy as we could before departing tomorrow. Ciao, bella.
