Spent a night at Wentworth which isis where the Murray River joins the Darling river to form the mighty MURRAY/Darling river. Now sitting on a lake at Barmera SA. 40+ degrees. We are several hundred kilometres from the coast at a height of 25m.En savoir plus

  • Boundary bend

    24 février 2019, Australie ⋅ 🌬 29 °C

Pulled up at a place called Boundary bend. A once upon time town but once again a lovely spot on the Murray. No time for fishing have to be in Mildura tomorrow for a hair cut so will have to come back another day. We will enjoy a beautiful evening here with the temperature in the late 20s.En savoir plus

Well another camp on the Murray. We are just out of Echuca a town full of river boats. Will take some more photos tomorrow in town and add them.

  • The mighty Murray

    22 février 2019, Australie ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Well we are here on the Murray river which is the boarder between NSW and Victoria. Pulled up for some maintenance and much needed r&r. We will follow the Murray to South Australia where we will join up with Nicks and Andy. More photos of the Murray to come and hopefully some fish 🐟🐟 photos as well.En savoir plus

  • Murrumbidgee river

    20 février 2019, Australie ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Stop at Darlington point on the Murrumbidgee river for a night. Had a lovely drive here from Condobolin a flat drive starting with huge grain farms and ending with the grape capital of NSW at Griffith. Griffith is all under irrigation so is as green as. The Murrumbidgee is just another upside down river although quite largeEn savoir plus

  • Condobolin

    18 février 2019, Australie ⋅ 🌬 35 °C

Traveled south west to Condobolin in 42+ degrees today and the air conditioner was struggling!!! We are looking for cooler weather but so far not good. But at least it’s green here. Maybe cooler tomorrow ???

UPDATE. A dust storm blew in late afternoon and then a quick storm. It was quite an experience, we had to shut ourselves up in the truck, meanwhile a good sized tree branch came down within a metre of the front of the truck!

  • Dubbo

    17 février 2019, Australie ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Pulled up just out of Dubbo at a place called Ponto. Once again a nice fast flowing river to pop in and out of as it is still in the mid 30s and still very dry. Will leave here maybe tomorrow or in a day or so time and head towards a place called Cobram where I’ll hopefully meet the people who help me build the fridge / freezer. Don’t know how long it will take so we will wait and see. Maybe a bit cooler weather but I better be careful for what I wish for!!!En savoir plus

  • All fix

    13 février 2019, Australie ⋅ ☀️ 34 °C

The truck was all fixed on Monday but to late to travel. We set out on Tuesday for a little town called Bingara. Lovely little town with a great free camp by the river that runs past the town. Will leave on Thursday and head towards Dubbo. As you can see in the photos it’s very smoky around here because there is a lot fires 🔥 going on in NSW as the drought is still in full swing with very little rain so far and no rain in sight.En savoir plus

  • Held up again!!!

    11 février 2019, Australie ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

We limped our way in to Goondiwindi and are trying to get the problem sorted out. Spent a nice weekend on a river free camping as we had to wait till today. Here’s hoping 🤞

  • Bonshaw weir

    7 février 2019, Australie ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

We are here at this beautiful spot but for all the wrong reasons. We left crooked creek yesterday to wonder our way a bit further south when the truck put a code up on the dash and then put the motor into limp mode. We limp along to here slowly and stopped here as we have reception. I rang the relevant people and they had no idea what the code meant. Someone is traveling 5 hours from Brisbane today to fix it. So we might go kayaking or I might go fishing we will see. What a bloody inconvenience!!! Hopefully traveling tomorrow.En savoir plus

  • Housesitting for Lisa and Guy

    5 janvier 2019, Australie ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

Just about finished our time house sitting and we have had a very relaxing time. We had nice Xmas and New Year eating our way through 2 kilos of prawns from the local prawn farm near here as well as other yummy treats.
Spent some of our time here mud crabbing, fishing and kayaking in the Albert River which the property backs onto.
We will head back towards Brisbane next week to get the things done on the truck that couldn’t be done before Christmas. So all things going well we will start heading south some time in January. Yahoo!!!

  • Family visits

    16 décembre 2018, Australie ⋅ 🌧 23 °C

First we went to Sam and Kirstie’s place, had a beautiful afternoon and a lovely dinner followed on into the wee small hours solving the worlds problems, very successfully, if my memory serves me correctly. They have a lovely family a beautiful place in a great area with room for our truck. The next day we went and had brunch with Katie and Sam just around the corner from where they live. Once again a lovely spot, beautiful brunch followed by a pleasant walk up the Brisbane river back to their place for yet another coffee. Thanks you guys!!En savoir plus

  • Ticky touring around.

    14 décembre 2018, Australie ⋅ 🌧 30 °C

Left Redcliffe and headed inland again for some more free camps while waiting to go down to Bess’s cousin place, just south of Brisbane, to house sit from the 19/12 to the 4/1/19. So the first port of call was Nanango for some more of those delicious peanuts!, Then we wandered around past these beautiful lakes till it was time to catch up with my nephew and niece.En savoir plus

  • Redcliffe

    12 décembre 2018, Australie ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

As we are still here in Brisbane doing truck things, we decided to have a couple of days at Redcliffe in the Moreton Bay region. We stayed at the show grounds for $25 a night. A short walk took us down to the foreshore where there is a very nice lagoon with picnic areas and lots of restaurants and cafes. The area also has a small lane way called Bee Gees Way, dedicated to the group, because they lived in the area as young boys and made their first public appearances in and around Redcliffe.
The day was a bit drizzly and overcast but still warm and there was plenty of people swimming. We had lunch at a Cafe called Yabbey Road where they played all the old music from our era and the tables were covered with a collage of concert tickets.
    Really enjoyed wandering around there.

  • Hervey Bay and Buxton

    25 novembre 2018, Australie ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

Had to go north to Hervey Bay to get the lithium battery seen too. Quite a nice place, had a drink at the Boat Club and dinner at an Asian restaurant overlooking the marina. It’s a busy place with lots of retirees living there.
So then we popped up the coast to a little place called Buxton ( see photos). Will be wetting a line here for sure. It’s a beautiful day about 30 degrees but a lovely sea breeze. Only allowed 24 hours here but who’s counting. We are meant to be back in Brisbane tomorrow but ah well I say we had truck problems ( hope they aren’t following us on penguins ).

  • South Bank Brisbane

    11 novembre 2018, Australie ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

We’ve been staying at the Pine Rivers Showgrounds for the past week, close to Travel Trucks for the truck and the doctors for Dave.
We’ve got ourselves Go Cards and have been using the Public transport system, a very cheap way to get around. Bus stops and train stations almost at our doorstep. Today we caught the train into the city, then the ferry to the Southbank Parklands. Had lunch at The Plough Inn and had a brilliant day both in the park and on the river.En savoir plus
