• Downtime in Delhi

    February 23 in India ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

The 5 hour drive from Delhi to Jaipur went really quickly as we sped along the highways passing the lush green fields of Rajasthan, bigger built up towns and finally back into bustling Dehli. En route we stopped at what we believe was the Indian version of little chef and enjoyed some lovely spicy soup and veggie masala curry. Back in our hotel, we said goodbye to our fabulous guide Anu, and the rest of the group.

We then spent the next couple of days exploring Dehli at a slower pace… and enjoyed some much needed early nights. We developed chesty coughs so between swigging cough syrup in the back of tuk-tuks, we visited India gate, large handcraft markets, and even navigated the underground again.

The markets were fab (yes we finally caved in and chose a rug each to add some Indian flare to our homes!). It was nice to browse the loom market, where the sales people weren’t pushy as they are in some of the outdoor markets/Bazaars. Pushiness doesn’t get sales from us! We had lunch at what we decided must be India’s version of McDonalds too (Bangla Food) which was just delicious, especially the mango lassi!

A lovely end to a memorable adventure!
