    Myra was one of the few cities in the early Roman Empire that had the metropolis title. Its fame comes mostly from St Nicholas who settled and developed his teachings here.
    It was impressive to learn they build their cemetery similarly to a living city. The main picture shows part of the Necropolis, city of the dead, while on the east, next to it, they had the Acropolis, city of the living.

    We had some ice cream and also tried cactus fruit from road side farmers. Pear taste, big seeds - not to be handled by hand, as it can still be prickly.
