Day Fourteen: ///faced.lamps.incur. We wake up after a rainy, humid night feeling good. Deb and I enjoy our hot bucket showers and Kenyan Black Tea before packing up for the pending flight back to Nairobi. A wonderful breakfast and goodbyes before we load up and head to the Airstrip. On the way the guide spots a herd of Impala all looking in one direction and grunting warning chuffs. There is a predator nearby and we head that way to investigate. We spot a Leopard in a tree with a fresh Gazelle kill! Then a Leopard cub blasts down out of the tree and heads into the brush. Mama don't care and continues to crunch and lick on her breakfast. We get many good looks and photos while listening to the "eating" and then exit so the cub can get back to Mom. The highlight of the flight out is the discovery of a job I could get into! Prior to a plane landing and before it takes off at the Airstrip there is an unsung hero making a difference! That man straddles his motorcycle and blasts down the runway and scares off all the Impala, Cape Buffalo, Baboons, and any other wandering creature so the plane has smooth passage. Now you know. Next we arrive back in Nairobi and head to Ocean Sole. https://oceansoleonline.com/ They purchase flip-flops collected during beach clean-ups, (Over one million last year) and create cool art! This creates jobs and cleans up the ocean at the same time! We check into the hotel and do a massive repack for our late departure tomorrow evening. With everything all sorted out it's time for some room service and then luxurious sleep in air-conditioning!Read more
