    Präsidentenpalast von Habib Bourguiba

    Heute Morgen verlegten wir unseren Stellplatz um 5 km und landeten direkt am ehemaligen Präsidentenpalast von Habib Bourguiba – der heute als Museum dient. Der Palast, einst Symbol für Macht und Prestige, hat leider schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. Während die weißen Fassaden noch erahnen lassen, wie beeindruckend das Gebäude einst gewesen sein muss, sieht man dem Bauwerk an, dass es dringend eine Renovierung nötig hätte. Besonders der einst prächtige Springbrunnen im Innenhof, der sicher früher für das perfekte „Ich-bin-mächtig“-Ambiente sorgte, liegt heute trist und ungepflegt da.

    Das Museum im Palast ist dennoch faszinierend und gibt einen Einblick in das Leben und Wirken von Bourguiba, dem ersten Präsidenten Tunesiens. Von seiner ikonischen Sonnenbrille über elegante Anzüge bis hin zu einem alten, prunkvollen Schreibtisch wird hier alles präsentiert, was ihn als Staatsmann ausmachte. Besonders beeindruckend ist sein Büro, das noch immer so wirkt, als hätte er es gerade erst verlassen, um irgendwo im Palast eine wichtige Entscheidung zu treffen.

    Ein weiteres Highlight ist die Ausstellung seiner Limousine, die die Pracht vergangener Zeiten widerspiegelt. Doch auch hier wird man etwas wehmütig: Während die Erinnerungsstücke gut in Szene gesetzt sind, hätte das Gebäude selbst dringend mehr Aufmerksamkeit und Pflege verdient. Es ist schade, dass für die Erhaltung dieses Kulturguts offenbar nicht genügend Mittel bereitgestellt werden, denn die Architektur und Geschichte des Palastes hätten eine strahlendere Präsentation verdient.

    Beim Verlassen des Museums blieb ein gemischtes Gefühl zurück: einerseits die Bewunderung für Bourguibas Lebenswerk, andererseits die Ernüchterung über den Zustand dieses einst so beeindruckenden Ortes.
    Vom Palast aus fuhren wir weiter in nahe gelegene Sousse. Hier stehen wir jetzt direkt am Strand an der Sand beach bar und genießen das schöne Wetter.

    Adieu Tunesien

    Leider heißt es heute Adieu sagen, aber durch die Hitze fällt es uns nicht ganz so schwer. Wir nahmen ein letztes Frühstück zu uns und trafen uns nochmal mit Rana und Jana, André und Frieda.
    Kurz vor halb zwölf machten sie sich mit Elyes in Richtung Tunis auf den Weg, um diese schöne Stadt zu besuchen.
    Wir setzten uns in die Hotel lounge und entspannten noch etwas bei einem Cappuccino bzw Kaffee.
    Das Taxi zum Flughafen startete um 13:15 Uhr.

    13:37 kam dann endlich der Bus - die Fahrt war natürlich wieder lang und warm.
    Auf dem Flughafen angekommen veräußern wir erst mal die letzten Tunesischen Dinar (leider gab es für die ausgeliehen Handtücher im Hotel ebenfalls Dinar zurück)… aber da ein Rücktausch wegen fehlender Quittung unmöglich war, suchten wir noch ein paar sinnvolle Mitbringsel.

    Gegen 17 Uhr stiegen wir endlich in unser Flugzeug ✈️ - es hatte bereits von Deutschland aus Verspätung, so dass sich auch der Abflug hier deutlich verspätete. Der Pilot entschuldigte sich und beruhigte uns mit den Worten: „ Ich werde fliegen, als ob ich das Flugzeug gestohlen hätte“ 😂
    Zusätzlich funktioniert gerade im Stehen die Klimaanlage nicht, so dass wir das Urlaubsfeeling noch eine Weile behielten 😅😓
    Kurz vor 18 Uhr ging es dann in die Lüfte - wir verließen Afrika, wir flogen über
    Sardinien - Korsika - Genua - die Schweizer Alpen…

    Szisza - fajka wodna. Trzeba spróbować będąc w Arabii. Spontanicznie idziemy wszyscy się poznać gdyż bedziemy lada dzień tworzyć grupę na jednego jeepa po pustyni. Ula z Wa-wy, Karolina z Łodzi, Bianka i Maciek z Podkarpacia oraz my. Z kilkunastu smaków wybieramy melasę tytoniu o dającej nadzieję nazwie "Love". Strzał w dziesiątkę bo wszystkim przypadł do gustu. Mistrz ceremoni precyzyjnie składa folię, rozżarza węgielki i przynosi jednorazowe ustniki dla każdego. Dostajemy też mocną herbatę z listkami mięty w małych szklaneczkach. Obok nas towarzystwo arabskie też leniwie celebruje koniec dnia zapewne po pracy.
    Sziszer-master wszystko tlumaczy i zaczynamy! Impreza się rozkręca, my się poznajemy coraz bardziej i wreszcie czujemy wakacje. Właściciel dosiada się do baś z drugą fajką i długo jeszcze rozmawiamy - o rodzinie, miejscach urodzenia, pracy, ramadanie i alkoholu... Jest błogo i miło. Wypada już kończyć bo i tak dla nas przedłużono działalność o ponad godzinę a szef zaprasza nas do swojego sklepu obok i zaskoczenie - wręcza drobne pamiątki bo i jemu też było sympatycznie. Tunezyjczycy to mili i uśmiechnięci ludzie.
