About nine miles today from Chamonix to Les Houches to finish the TMB. We took a lower route again today due to the weather Again with the rain!! It was still a good hike. Got a couple sandwiches for lunch from a bakery before we left town and headed out. There were a couple sketchy parts that you couldn’t really think too much about. 😳 Finished where we started 10 days ago and felt glad to have completed it but a little sad that it was over.Read more
Traveler You did it!!!!!! Yep even with the rain….it’s such a beautiful place! Let’s meat over there next summer for a little while……Jambone et Fromage baguette’s all day!!!!!

Weather is not cooperating. Snow and rain were predicted up where we were supposed to be to hike so we chose to do our own hike a little lower. Hiked from Argentiere to Chamonix along the river. It was a nice change of pace. Going through the pics from today, I guess it was all about the bakeries!Read more

We woke up this morning, opened the curtains and there it was - Mont-Blanc had appeared in beautiful sunshine!! It was a 'wow' moment.

Spectacular is an understatement. We weren't leaving until 11:00am so we had plenty of time to walk around Chamonix and enjoy the sights.Read more
Traveler I’m finally catching up with your days. Have been busy getting ready for a Sydney-Fingal Bay-Melbourne jaunt for a couple of weeks. Making Mum a birthday present. In Sydney with Em for the weekend. Going in to see Vivid tonight.

Glace de mer ( sea of ice)

Yesterday we arrived at Chamonix. We came with nanny and grandad.(Chamonix is in France 🇫🇷).
We woke up early and went to see the Glacé de mer (Sea of ice ) Glacier. We took something like a mountain train to reach the view point. The view was amazing!! Me, Mummy, Daddy and Nanny went down to see the Glacier and ice cave. We went really slowly because I was scared.
Once we arrived at the ice cave, we went inside. It was freezing cold and I had to wear a jacket!!! Brrrrrrrrrrr!
We walked up the steep slope and got on a cable car back up. I was really scared!! ( So was Nanny!!)Read more

Definitely hiking in the Alps

Today was the best weather day- woke up to clear view of all the mountains. Hiking was amazing and even had some entertainment during lunch at Lac Blanc.
