    Sliema

    April 29 in Malta ⋅ 🌬 19 °C

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at our beloved spot 'Food for Fit', we hopped on a ferry to visit the Malta Biennale exhibition. Of course, we couldn't resist pausing for a lovely tea break in the picturesque square along the way. The exhibition space was wonderfully curated, showcasing a few pieces that truly caught our eye.

Following our artful adventure, we decided to take a ride on the Barrakka Lift down to the Valletta waterfront for a tasty lunch of vegan lasagna, all while admiring the stunning views dominated by massive cruisers.

As the day came to a close, it was time to wrap things up, pack our bags, and head to the airport. As we departed from Malta, we were treated to a captivating display of fireworks lighting up the sky. It was the perfect finale to a memorable few days filled with wonderful experiences.

    Balzan

    April 23 in Malta ⋅ 🌬 18 °C

The rainy weather today made us grateful for our time at the beach yesterday, and was the perfect opportunity to visit family. We had a lovely time catching up with Valarie over herbal tea (she enjoyed the peppermint and liquorice blend) and then went to see Polly and Freddy, who were both in high spirits. Unfortunately, the kids were too busy to come over, but David called for a quick chat with Andrei.

We rounded off our day with a trip to Corinthia Palace for dinner at the Michelin-star restaurant Bahia, which was absolutely fantastic. The ambience, the cuisine, the service - everything was superb.

    Valletta

    April 23 in Malta ⋅ 🌬 16 °C

Embarking on new adventures, we made sure to arrive at the passport office bright and early. Hearing about the queues on Google, we didn't want to spend Andrei's birthday waiting around all day. Lucky for us, we were the first in line! Although we were initially told we were missing some address proof, the wait for the office to open allowed us the perfect opportunity to get the necessary documents and email them over just in time for our number to be called.

With everything falling into place, we were thrilled to hear that Andrei's passport would be ready in just two weeks. What a relief to be back in the EU!

After our successful trip to the passport office, we treated ourselves to breakfast at Grain and raised a toast to our triumph. This charming restaurant was conveniently located nearby and the perfect spot to keep the celebration going.

Afterwards, we set off to explore the streets of Valletta and take in the sights at the rooftop gardens of Valletta Design Cluster. Then realising that the weather was too good we decided to head back to Sliema for a refreshing swim and a bit of sunbathing.

For dinner, we chose Zest, an Asian fusion restaurant combining Japanese and Peruvian flavours. The evening was made even more enjoyable with my newfound love for Louis Roederer Champagne. What a delightful way to end a fantastic day of success and celebration!
