    Nice —> Tours

    July 10, 2023 in France ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

We said goodbye to beachside life for a little bit and checked out of our Airbnb to catch a train to Paris which took around 6 hours.

In Paris, we had to take a couple of metros across town to get to another one of the major train stations to board a train to Tours, the town where Gab did her exchange 9 years ago! That train took around an hour.

We arrived in Tours around 6pm, freshened up in our Airbnb and went for a quick walk around town before dinner, with Gab showing Daniel the university that she attended and the walkway along the Loire River.

We then went for dinner in Place Plumereau (nicknamed Place Plume) which is the main square in Vieux Tours (Old Tours). Gab didn't have dinner much there when she was on exchange (but she enjoyed a lot of the student bars and pubs around!) We enjoyed a nice dinner where we shared some wine and had a couple of pizzas, plus some gelato for dessert. Gab was surprised how many tourists were around - it was crowded and so many people were speaking English (very unlike when Gab was on exchange!)
