Laverton - Great Central Road

Now we have reached Laverton, where the Great Central Road starts. Tomorrow morning we will leave the civilisation and the sealed roads for quite a while. If nothing goes wrong we will arrive at Yulara (close to Uluru) on the 20th September.
We have just checked out the road conditions and everything should be fine with no rain in the next days. Nevertheless it is a long way on a rough road, but we are prepared with plenty of food, an extra 40 litres of fuel and around 50 litres of water.

Jetzt sind wir in Laverton, Der letzte wirkliche Ort in Western Australia und vor allem der Start der Great Central Road. Von hier sind es noch ca. 1100km bis zum Uluru auf einer unasphaltierten Outback Straße. Die nächste Stadt mit Supermärkten und allem was man benötigt ist tatsächlich Alice Springs in knapp 1600km. Es wird spannend!
Morgen früh geht es los und wenn nichts schief geht werden wir am Abend vom 20. September am Uluru ankommen. Dann sollte es zumindest wieder Handyempfang geben. Mit 40 Litern extra Benzin, 50 Litern Wasser und Essen für eine ganze Weile sollten wir selbst im Falle einer Panne gut ausgestattet sein.Read more
