Katherine Gorge

We joined a boat tour through the Katherine Gorge this morning. Right now we are at the end of the dry season so there are 13 gorges and you always have to change boats and walk a few hundred meters to the next gorge. We only visited the first and second gorge today and it was really nice.

We learned that during the wet season it is one huge gorge and the water is flowing with up to 40kph through the gorge. Would be amazing to see.

Heute ging es auf eine gemütliche Bootstour durch die Katherine Gorge. Da wir zurzeit am Ende der Trockenzeit sind ist der Fluss in 13 Teile geteilt. Um von einem Teil in den nächsten zu kommen muss man also immer ein kleines Stückchen laufen.

In der Regenzeit steigt der Pegel in der Schlucht im Schnitt um 6m und das Wasser schießt mit bis zu 40km/h durch die gesamte Schlucht. Wäre bestimmt auch interessant zu sehen.Læs mere
