    This small museum in the main town of Lavrion houses some fascinating artifacts. Some of the artifacts date back to 40000 bc, the Paleolithic era. Much of the exhibition details the ancient mining history of the area. Apparently the surrounding area has some 50 km of tunnel underneath the surface. The area was mined primarily for silver, but also other minerals and marble.Leggi altro
