Day 2 Via Lukla to Phakding

Mountain flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding. 

The mountain flight into Lukla was spectacular and the landing an exciting beginning to the trek - one end of the runway is 60m higher than the other.

In Lukla, we met up with sherpa guides and porters before heading off on the trek towards Phakding. Followed the Dudh Kosi, the river that flows down from the Himalayas, crossing hanging bridges along the way. Saw the mani stones, which boulders carved with Buddhist inscriptions. Lots of pine and cedar woods. +- 7km trek.
