Day 8 Dingboche/Lobuche

Elevation: 5000m

The ascent towards Everest Base Camp continues through Alpine meadows and summer yak pastures towards the end of the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. The steep climb to the top - 400m in assent took as to one of sacred sites on the walk. Multiple stone monuments with praying flags are scattered across the plato to remind us of the Sherpas and other climbers who died in Everest or were associated with Everest. The landscape is also now extremely rocky with little vegetation.

Temperature also plummeted to below zero.
 
We got Lobosche at 1500 and ascended to a hill at the back to finally get to the 5000m mark.
