    In the afternoon, we visited Karakuş Tumulus, an impressive burial monument from the ancient Kingdom of Commagene. The site was built for female members of the royal family. Its striking columns are visible from afar. Some of them feature eagle and lion sculptures, giving the monument its distinctive appearance. The site is surrounded by beautiful scenery and wide-open views. We learned more about the history and significance of the Kingdom of Commagene during our visit. Despite the passing centuries, many elements remain remarkably well preserved. The monument offers a fascinating glimpse into the ancient world. The combination of history and nature made the experience unique. Karakuş Tumulus was an impressive stop along our route.
