The Golden Temple

After lunch, I visited the Golden Temple (Kwa Bahal). This magnificent Buddhist temple is tucked away in a hidden courtyard. It's not easy to find! At the moment, it is undergoing extensive restoration work, but it was still worth a visit. Its history dates back to the 12th century, and its gilded metal facade is one of the most beautiful in Patan. The main priest of the temple is a young boy under the age of 12, who serves for 30 days before handing the job over to another young boy.
