  • Siam Sunday H3 #605

    28 de abril de 2024, Tailandia ⋅ ☀️ 40 °C

We ventured north of Bangkok today, up to Ayutthaya for another hot and glorious trail. We had a robust pack of nearly 25 hashers, and all enjoyed a fine 7.5 km trail through the many rice paddies and dirt tracks around the area. The pictures tell the tale.

Afterwards, we had a rousing and fun circle, followed by a most excellent Thai dinner. Sad to be saying goodbye, but have to be moving on tomorrow. Looking forward to returning here in a few months time.

  • Stuttgart H3 Fest – Ballbreaker Trail

    4 de mayo de 2024, Alemania ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Stuttgart Spring Fest 2024 – Ballbreaker Trail, into Runners Trail

We met at 0830 on Saturday morning, after a late night pub crawl. Who’s idea was that? 😊 Only 8 of the 60 hashers signed up showed up for the BB trail, so they missed out on the extra fun.

Took us 2 hours to run the first 9 kms to where the Runners trail started, and since we were so late, they were already gone. The sweeps had marked the checks from this point, so the next 3-4 kms were a sprint until we caught up to the runners, then it was back to normal breaking the checks.
At 15 kms we found another drink stop, and then we finished up with a final 6 kms or so. All totaled, the BB trail was about 19 kms, and with all the checks, some of us managed 21.5 kms. A great day on the hash, many thanks to the hares.

Once all the runners had finished, we waited a bit for the walkers to come in, then we had an entertaining circle, and some excellent picnic food to soak up the beer.

    7 de mayo de 2024, Alemania ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

Always great to come home to Germany, especially when I get to set trail for my youngest offspring here in Stuttgart. The DST H3 turned 15 last month.

Trail was out north-west of Stuttgart, in Renningen. As you can see from the map, there was little pavement abused on this trail, nothing but shiggy. It had also rained just enough over the past couple days that several areas were quite moist. After the Fest Hash weekend here in Stuttgart, and three days of hashing and drinking, I only expected about 10 to turn up, but when we set off to run, we had 21 eager hashers taking on the adventure.

It was all mud and guts, and surprisingly, everyone finished within 10 minutes of each other . . . the runners in one group, and the walkers not far behind. Dinner was in a cozy German restaurant, and after a couple beers all was right in the world. On On to next week.

  • Frankfurt H3 #2010

    9 de mayo de 2024, Alemania ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

We met out in Weisbaden (about 40 minutes west of Frankfurt) for this trail, and it was a good one. The hares found plenty of dirt trails connecting the various neighborhoods together to keep things interesting. It was a fun 7+ km trail. Circle went on for a tad too long, but still a great time.Leer más

  • SHITS H3 #274

    11 de mayo de 2024, Alemania ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

The Saturday Hash In The Summer (SHITS) H3 was born a few years back to fill the void of the annual shift of the Frankfurt H3 that runs on Saturday in the winter, and shifts to Thursday in the summer.

We had an 8 km trail today, mostly city streets, and even had a true trail arrow on a YBF. 🙂

Another excellent trail here with the DST H3. Yoron Weed set a loop around Degerloch, and I have to admit I zenned in a couple spots, but that did not make it any shorter. Actually ran over an extra KM in my frenzy, but still a great time. 😆😆

A few of the old gang from the early years are still here (or have returned) . . . Benwa, KMIG, Tile Surfer, Blue Moon (and Shut Up, but she skipped trail again tonight).

    19 de mayo de 2024, Jersey ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

My first hash trail in Jersey, and it was a great one. The start was out on the west coast, across the street from the beach. Trail went up over the hill and towards town, taking in several small dirt and grass pathways, before looping around the southwest corner of the island and back up to the carpark.

I was offered a beer, and the hash provided sandwiches which were super tasty. Circle consisted of one mass down down for 4, including the hare, the visitor, and two others for various concerns. After a few announcements, circle was closed . . . but then it was realized a birthday was missed, so reconvening circle, we had one more down down.

I asked several questions during the hash, and was presented with a book on the history of hashing on Jersey . . . so that will spruce up my article, as well as my book.

  • Jersey H3

    20 de mayo de 2024, Jersey ⋅ 🌬 16 °C

Monday night on Jersey, and it was another great hash trail. We met in a park overlooking St Brelade's Bay, and a pack of about 20 turned up for a most excellent 7 km trail. After trail, we were invited over to the hare's house for a sausage BBQ and a beer. Very friendly they are, here on Jersey.Leer más

  • Barnes H3 #2018

    22 de mayo de 2024, Inglaterra ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

After the FUBAR down in Guernsey, and rather than spend two days doing nothing there . . . I rebooked my flight to London, and left. Arriving at Gatwick, I headed off to Coulsdon where I had booked a hotel close to the start of the Barnes H3. It was a cool evening, and drizzling rain, but it turned out to be a splendid run through the countryside, with plenty of shiggy.

The hashers of the Barnes H3 are 'older' and mentioned they do not run so much, more walkers . . . but have to wave the BS flag on that. Three of the harriettes were off like a flash, and I could barely keep up. I seemed to always catch up just in time for a check, and they gladly let me run off in the wrong direction almost every time. :) But seriously, they were great fun and we had a nice chat both before and after trail.

  • PAN SOAM Prelube Trail 1

    5 de junio de 2024, Brasil ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Like Rambo said, they drew first blood . . . tonight, we leaked first sweat. The pack met at the Cullinan HPlus hotel and took off on a 7+ km trail to the IVV Swinebar. There were about a dozen runners, and 2-3 dozen walkers . . . then another 3-4 dozen turned up later via UBER. In the end, there were over 80 hashers swilling their beverage of choice as they chatted about coming to Brazil for the first time . . . and many of them, to SOUTH AMERICA for the first time. Exactly what I hoped for . . . rego opens up tomorrow, and there is another warm up trail in the late afternoon . . . BUT, the real action starts on FRIDAY. Our trailmaster, INBRED FRED has lined up some awesome trails for the weekend, starting with the RED DRESS RUN on Friday, and several options on Saturday. Sunday will bring us all back to sea level, and then the whole weeeeeeeekend, will be relegated to a memory.Leer más

  • PAN SOAM - Red Dress Run

    7 de junio de 2024, Brasil ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

We opened up the first official trail of the weekend with a red dress run. Our hares set a most excellent 7 km night time trail from city center out to the venue. After an introduction, the pack was off and on their way. We made our way past several prominent government buildings, then the President's House, before crossing traffic and on in to the beer check.

Once the pack had rehydrated, we were off again for the second half to the venue (in the dark). The send half was much more fun as we navigated trail into the finish.

At the venue we had food and drinks, and some cultural entertainment that will come out in another post. Suffice it to say, the first trail was amazing, and fun was had by all. Tomorrow will be the main event . . . and THAT, will be out of this world.

Survived the first 5 (of 10) trails of this year's Tour! So far we have only covered about 25 kms over 5 trails with the St Pete H3, Tampa Bay H3, Sarasota Circus H3, LUSH H3, and Taco Tuesday H3. Five more days to come, continuing with the Jolly Roger H3 tonight, then No Strings Attached H3, Florida Happy Hour H3, Lakeland H3, and finally . . . Bay 2 Beaches H3 ending on Sunday.Leer más

  • Final 5 trails of Tour de Hash

    23 de junio de 2024, Estados Unidos ⋅ ☁️ 32 °C

That's it, successfully completed all 10 trails (again) in the greater Tampa area Tour de Hash. Totals include 64 kms of trail, over 10 straight days, in near 100 degree temps. Just like a regular afternoon of fun.

Many thanks to all the hares for setting trail, and all the other organizers. I think we raised over $2500 for the food bank out in Lakeland.

I will have so much free time this week, not having to get to the hash on time again for a few days. 😆😆😆

  • 5 More Trails in the GTA

    11 de julio de 2024, Estados Unidos ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

After completing the Tour de Hash, it took a bit of prodding to get the Tampa Bay H3 and Circus H3 to organize their biweekly trails. But I pushed them, and only had to hare one of them. Also tallied 3 more Jolly Roger weekly hash trails, albeit sick last week, and then getting my appendix removed, and returned to walk trail last night. Had only come to Tampa to await a trip to Canada that got pushed back a month, so spent a month here in Tampa. BUT, it is time to get moving again.Leer más

  • Blooming Fools H3 #1010

    13 de julio de 2024, Estados Unidos ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

My first hash in Indiana, and it was excellent. I had hoped to make it into town in time for the Indy-scent H3 last night, but due to bad weather while making my connection in Houston, my flight was delayed 2 hours and I missed it. But I did get a good night's sleep and was bright eyed and bushy tailed ready for the BFH3 today.

We met at Olcott Park on the southern side of town, and the pack trickled in until we had nearly 35 hashers on hand. Was good to see old friends (O+ and PCMA from Over the Hump H3) and make several new friends. I even had the privilege to meet the founder of the BFH3, White Lightning. WL started hashing in the early 90's and had made his way to the greater Washington, DC area and was hashing with the Mount Vernon H3 up to 1996, before moving back to Indiana and founding the BFH3 in 1997. He has been a regular here ever since, and has racked up 660 trails as of today (there was a buzz about what to do for his upcoming 666 trail . . . something to do with Ozzie Osborne and Taylor Swift I think 😆😆).

The pack here is super friendly, and made for a fun day on the hash. Trail was a fun 10 kms and well marked, and the follow on circle was very entertaining. After we wrapped that up, we all migrated to a local craft brewery for eats, drinks, and board games. An excellent day on the hash.

  • Little Rock Humpin' H3

    17 de julio de 2024, Estados Unidos ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

My first time in Arkansas, just flew in for the hash today. We met at a corner pub, and I arrived at 1830 as posted, but did not see anyone. Marks were on the street, so I took a seat and waited. At 1855, still no one around, I went to the other side of the pub and found a few at the bar.

Just at 1900, the hare swilled her last sip and escorted us to the chalk talk. Trail was prelaid, so she set us off to our own devices and went home. Our stalwart pack of 5 runners took to the streets. Trail was pretty much all sidewalks, which was a bit disappointing as there was a huge park very nearby.

We were about 2 + miles into trail, when we passed by the park again, and seeing we were headed straight back to the pub . . . I deviated off and did my own little run through the shiggy. Very cool park, and certainly has been used for many trails in the past 50 years that hashing has been going in Little Rock.

After we all gathered at the pub again, the five of us ordered beers and sat around chatting. Very nice bunch.
