  • Maho Beach St. Marteen

    March 29, 2014 in Sint Maarten ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

The rush you feel from the airplanes is so much fun. It's more exciting than it is scary. The beach is very crowded but that is because it is very small. We grabbed a table at the Sunset Grille and made our way out to the beach when the planes came. It was quite an experience and I would definitely come here again to experience it.

    Hippie Tip:
**Be aware** If you are cruising, it will take a few hours to get back to the boat by taxi. Plan accordingly. Traffic is terrible!!
Be sure to try Guava Berry Colada

  • Grand Turk

    April 1, 2014 in Turks and Caicos Islands ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

The Grand Turk is purely a tourist trap. There's not much there other than Margartiaville and the beach, but that doesn't mean it ends there! Go past the port and out to the taxi stands. Don't buy any of the over priced ship excursions, get the real stuff! We found in a past post to ask for Mama Dea taxi services, and that is what we did. We had a fantastic tour guide, Tony! We asked another couple to join us and we worked out a great price of $25 a person for a 2 hour tour of Grand Turk. It was a really great experience to learn about the culture of the Island and to see some great places that otherwise, we would never have known. I really wanted to bring back a Conch Shell from Grand Turk, and Tony made that happen. I was so happy that we decided to listen to the advice of other travelers and go beyond the port! Upon returning to the port, we walked down the beach to Jacks bar, a local bar, where we could hang with the locals and grab a local beer. Enjoy!
    Hippie Tips:
    Try the local brew!
Check the sand for littered sea glass!

  • Eleuthera, Bahamas

    April 13, 2014 on the Bahamas ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Princess stops at Princess Cays in the Bahamas, but there's more to it! We took a tour with Eleuthera Tours. What a great experience! We were all really looking forward to this tour and it superseded our expectations! It was truly an authentic local tour. We ventured around the beach for a bit and thought about snorkeling but ended up having too much fun joking with Donald and the other couples that had joined the tour. Our lunch was absolutely fantastic! One of the best meals I had during our entire cruise. The punch was actually stronger than I expected and we all had a great time! If you are open to meeting new people, trying new things and learning about a new culture, this is the tour for you. I can't wait to try another tour one day! Don't miss this!Read more

  • Kralendijk,Bonaire

    November 23, 2015 in Bonaire ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

If you love to snorkel or scuba, you won't be missing anything on the island, so do it. We took a tour around the entire island. There's really not much. It is beautiful and is a protected reserve. The cactus distillery was pretty cool.

  • Oranjestad, Aruba

    November 24, 2015 in Aruba ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

We took the private tour with our 10 person group with Cap’t Rene. We really enjoyed the unlimited rum punch. The best thing was that we didn’t hit any other tours while snorkeling which was fantastic. It felt as if we were on the water by ourselves. The sunken ship was pretty awesome to see.

  • Roseau, Dominica

    November 27, 2015 in Dominica ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Mr. Nice's Fruit stand! Definitely worth it. In my personal opinion, we made the mistake of booking Sheppe Tours, which had wonderful reviews, but it was absolutely terrible. If we ever go back to Dominica, I would hire a taxi to take me back to Mr. Nice's fruit stand where you can try all the local fruit. And then on to Champagne Beach.Read more

  • St. Thomas

    November 30, 2015 on the U.S. Virgin Islands ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

One of the most popular cruise ports actually holds lots of great things to experience. We are the less tourist travelers and that may be hard to find here, but not impossible. Coki Beach was a great place to get away from it all. The beach is cluttered with locals and the water is crystal clear. We even got some great vegetarian eats! Another amazing spot, which I think will become much more touristy in the near future, is Secret Harbor Beach. With a bar just steps from the sand, it's hard to beat.Read more

  • St. George, Grenada

    November 30, 2015 in Grenada ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

CB Historical Tours is the way to go! We were in port for a very short time and CB did an outstanding job showing us highlights of the island and even accommodating us for a waterfall stop. He is a wealth of information about the history of the island and US invasion in 1983. The island looks more developed and clean to compare to some others that we visited. His vehicle is clean and has air conditioner. Overall, great tour, great info, highly recommended. Best value for money!

  • Vibrating One Love

    November 1, 2017 in Jamaica ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

If you are looking for a true Jamaican experience while in Montego Bay, look no further. This isn't a tour, this is an experience. We learned so much and was able to partake in activities. The energy was palpable and the knowledge was never ending. If you are spiritual in any sense of the word, learning about One Love is infatuating. Feeling accepted and to be surrounded by others who share my same beliefs was so empowering. We use Taylor Made Tours Ja as our guide for the day and Rhamone was fantastic! I highly recommend him!Read more

  • I left my heart in George Town

    November 2, 2017 in Cayman Islands ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

I fell in love with Grand Cayman the minute we stepped off of the boat. While tourists jumped on the touristy things, Steve and I walked across the street to the library and jumped on the local transportation. $2.5 USD per line! We took public transportation to Spotts Beach where we snorkeled for a bit. Warning! The tide was pretty strong! We walked out to the road and grabbed another bus back into town and ate at Bread and Chocolate. Wait, we didn't eat. We experienced some of the best vegan food ever! I'm not sure if that was because we had been stuck eating crappy cruise ship food but it was truly absolutely delicious. We walked back over to the Library and grabbed the bus down to Calico Jacks. I'd have to say it wasn't my favorite beach bar we've ever been to but it did the job. We had some local beer and enjoyed the water. I am so looking forward to visiting again.Read more

  • Follow your heart in Cozumel

    November 3, 2017 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

We had our heart set on renting a car in Cozumel but the group changed their mind last minute. I wish we followed our heart. We fell for a trap from a taxi driver (red flag 1) right outside the port (red flag 2). We ended up at this terrible "resort" called Ocean. Just don't. When we get the chance, we will get back to Cozumel and let her give us the experience she deserves for us to walk away with.Read more
