• Land of Cherries and Caves

    After a long windy night, we found some respite from the wind through the hilly country in the northern Gard. The first highlight of the day, after realizing we were rolling through fields of ripe cherry trees, was finding a lone tree along the road, where we were able to glean handfuls of delicious cherries. We then pedalled into Goudargues just in time for the market and lunch at a park. Our route took us over the Cèze River and up to Aven d'Orgnac, a beautiful limestone cave that we were able to visit on a guided tour. We ended our day in a nearby gîte, happy for some rest and shelter from the wind.Read more
