    Magic Kingdom - Part 2

    After dinner we split up again and went to do the rest of our fast passes: seven dwarfs and Peter Pan.

    Unfortunately there was a fair bit of rain so we were choosing rides/shows inside and hoping it would clear up by the time we get out. We've done a lot of them now just missing the bigger rides (i.e space/thunder/splash mountain) which will be for another day.

    After mostly doing rides we went to our dessert party with Dan and Nina, there was lots of dessert although we didn't eat loads. We were then escorted to a private area to watch the fireworks which was awesome ^.^

    Then we did a few more rides and off to bed!

    Epcot

    Today our plan was to do Epcot - Unfortunately when we got there and Hywel was not feeling so well so off he went back to the hotel and I met up with Dan and Nina.

    First stop was Mission Space, I was a little nervous because they kept giving warnings that it may not be for everyone (a lot of warnings!) but in the end it was fun.

    Then we did out second fastpass of the day: Soarin and got ready for our tour "Behind the seeds".

    It was interesting, got to see all the plants and even fed some fish. Tour took over an hour to do so once we got out Dan and Nina went on their last FP and I went back to the hotel. Will just chill for today but we have another busy day tomorrow when we return to Animal Kingdom - stay tuned!    Baca lagi

    Animal Kingdom

    Hywel was still feeling unwell so I went into the park on my own and met up with the Bowen party for some breakfast at Tusker house. This was a character meal so we got to see Micky, Goofy, Donald and Daisy (no Pluto...).

    We did the Safari ride and a few others, then it came to the fast pass we were all looking forward to: Flight of Passage. Hywel at this point joins us to use the fast pass as the queue has been over an hour long so he didn't want to miss out. It was sooooo good, I am not content on riding it just the once!

    Hywel was still not feeling very good (he did enjoy the ride though!) so we went back to the hotel to rest. After a few hours we went back in, did the safari and a few other rides and watched rivers or light show.

    Once that was over we had a chance to do a few more rides and then called it a night.    Baca lagi

    Disney Springs

    Today was our first non-Disney park day while staying here, so we headed to Florida Mall to pick up a few things and then met up with Dan in Disney Springs.

    We went to the Edison to try the impossible burger which is a vegan burger that tastes and looks like a real burger, it was very good.

    Then we did a bit of shopping and walked over to Star Wars the void. So this is a VR experience but you actually get to walk around which is awesome. It was supposed to be 6 of us and we would get 2 goes each but we lost Nina and Danielle so me, Hywel, Dan and Sim had 3 goes at it. It was really fun and so funny, I kept shooting people which would give off a vibration, in my defence they were being mean apparently it was easy to tell which storm trooper I was due to my height ¬.¬

    Did a bit more shopping and it was time for more food at T-Rex cafe. It was very cool in there but we were still feeling full after the burger so it was a struggle... We would have cancelled but we would have been charged $20 so it was cheaper to go as we were using our dining credits.

    As we were walking in the car park we saw an opossum!    Baca lagi

    Magic Kingdom

    So the plan for today was to wake up quite early to pop to Animal Kingdom but Hywel had too much food the night before and was not feeling well again :( So i left him in bed and off I went to meet Dan and Nina in Animal Kingdom.

    The reason we got up early was to get on flight of passage before the queue got too long and we were pretty successful, it took around 35 minutes to get on. Afterwards we did some more rides and then went to the Polynesian resort to get vegan Tonga toast which was yummy! Then we went over to Magic kingdom to do our fast pass and lunch.

    Hywel joined us after food to watch the parade which was really fun to watch and sing along with. The rest of the day was full of rides and Disney fun :)    Baca lagi

    Wedding

    The only reason... the main reason... one of the reasons we are on holiday in Florida, certainly why we are here now is for the wedding of Simeon and Danielle.

    It was a very good wedding, my kind of wedding. It was quick and to the point, abroad in a really nice location, not many people, and no religion.

    It started a bit rough with some transportation issues, the groom taking a taxi while we were in the limo. It was a good ceremony though and a good day    Baca lagi

    Hollywood Studios

    After the wedding we went to Hollywood Studios. I didn't join everybody for the meal as I still can't handle food that isn't toast, but it was apparently very good.

    Then explored the park, watched a short Beauty and the Beast Musical, met BB-8, went on all the rides we wanted to do and then watched the night time show Fantasmic which was awesome as is everything here.Baca lagi

    Rocket Launch!

    So yesterday, during the wedding meal, there was supposed to be a launch of a SpaceX rocket. Fortunately, for us anyway, it was aborted with 58 seconds left and re-arranged for today!

    We planned on spending the morning in a Disney park then heading to the coastline to watch the launch. Alex though has started to come down with a cold (nobody is safe from illness in Diseny...), so we had a longer sleep and then visited a pharmacy.

    We originally headed to the coast but at the last minute decided to watch from Kennedy Space Centre. It was good having the commentary of what was happening and what stages they were going through, although it was hot in the sun waiting.

    Luckily for us, it did launch on time and it was amazing. We were so excited on the way to the Space Centre and the run up to the launch, and it was an amazing site to see and hear the rocket head to space. It was weirdly emotional too with all the cheering going on. Definitely an amazing experience I will never forget.

    We then walked around some of the musuems and shops, we will be going back again to do them properly. In the pictures you can see us rocking our 'Annual Pass' lanyards (because apparently if you want to visit for more than one day, you get a years pass).    Baca lagi

    Epcot

    The only park I hadn't visited yet (I missed the first visit) was Epcot.

    We visited today and I really like it. It doesn't necessarily have the best rides, but areas are dedicated to different countries which is cool. The main fun, for me anyway, was playing a Perry the Platypus secret mission game in the countries, one task needed me to tell a cashier in a tea shop that 'evil is my cup of tea' to get the next clue.

    It did start raining today, which we were not prepared for. It's supposed to rain most of the rest of this week too. Still warm though and still in Disney so, hey-ho.    Baca lagi

    Medieval Times

    For food this evening we travelled back to 'Medieval Times' and back to the UK for a jousting tournament and a feast.

    The place was as hilariously over the top as we thought it would be and the locals in the crowd were well into it. Unfortunately our Knight, the Red one, happend to be pretty poor and probably came last.Baca lagi

    Epcot again

    Visited Epcot again today to do more rides that we didn't get to do and maybe do another Perry the Platypus secret mission or two.

    Went on the frozen ride which was very good and even got to meet Elsa and Anna afterwards. Met other characters too, ate in the coral reef restaurant and watched the fireworks show.

    It was wet again, but we were prepared this time so it was fine. Alex did buy a cool umbrella to help.    Baca lagi

    Universal

    Today we left Disney and went to visit Universal for the day.

    The weather predicted torrential rain and thunderstorms all day. It was certainly raining when we arrived but it meant the park was quiet. It also cleared up in the afternoon. Went on the Hulk ride straight away which is the most intense ride we have done in Florida and was lots of fun. We then didn't help the wet situation by going on a few water rides which I'm sure are great when it's hot and sunny, less so on days when your trying to avoid getting wet.

    We visited Hogwarts, took the Hogwarts express, did MIB, Jurassic Park, Alex ran off with Woody the woodpecker again, the Simpsons, the Mummy, Jimmy Fallon (random), we basically did pretty much the whole two parks in a day which is a success. Ended with a couple more turns on the Hulk before heading back to the hotel.

    It was a fun day but they really like these 3D rides too much here. I like a good rollercoaster, not a simulated rollercoaster. Went on the new Fast and Furious ride, which I expected to be quite fast and maybe even furious in parts. So disappointing when we were on a bus (not a car) and it was all fake motion.    Baca lagi

    Kennedy Space Centre

    Went back to Kennedy Space Center today to see the rest of the museum and do the tour. It was very cool seeing the Saturn rocket and the Atlantis Shuttle. Kinda want to work in space now...

    Went back to Epcot (third day running) when we got back so that we could have some Japanese food. The food was really good and had it cooked in front of us.Baca lagi

    Back to Hollywood Studios

    Today we were back in Hollywood Studios catching things we hadn't seen yet. Including, Indiana Jones stunt show, Frozen sing along (because we are that cool), meeting more characters, and the Star Wars desert party and fireworks show. We also ate in a cool restaurant lunchtime that looked like a 1950's drive-in movie theatre.

    Ended the day with the extra magic hours at Magic Kingdom until midnight. Long day but lots of fun. We are starting to realise that we don't have much time left...    Baca lagi

    Last full Disney day

    Today was our last full day in Disney and our last night in the hotel. :(

    We spent the day in Animal Kingdom. We did the river rapids (got wet), Finding Nemo the musical which was awesome, the Lion King show, and ate some tasty curry buns (Dan 'needed' six).

    We had our meal at the Polynesian hotel's Ohana restaurant where we were given way too much food and got to watch the fireworks while eating.

    ...we also started collecting and trading pins... on our last full day...    Baca lagi

    Last day in Disney

    Today was our last day in Disney :( it's been a very good few weeks.

    For the last day we did a few different things and didn't go on any rides. Did a sort of treasure hunt where we were sorcerers battling bad guys using spell cards... until Dan lost a battle against the bad guy from Pocahontas.

    We then did more shopping and trading for pins, which is a thing we do now, and watched the Muppets great moments in American history.

    The last Disney thing we did was eat in a restaurant in the Norway area with princesses. Unfortunately no Rapunzel, but it was still good.

    Checked out and spending the night near the airport before heading back home tomorrow.    Baca lagi
