• Chowmallah: The Four Palaces

    "Why is it called Chowmallah Palace again?" I asked.
    Akash sighed, "Because there are four palaces and four in Persian is Chahar. Hence colloquially."
    "And not because the Nizams liked chowmein." He cocked his eyebrows and added, noticing the smile forming on my face.
    The Chowmallah Palace is one of the most well conserved cultural heritages in India. It is a cultural treasure trove for heritage seekers but to a poorly history educated guy like me, I never got the appeal of seeing another Mahal unless the name was Taj.
    Nevertheless, I was quite impressed by the cutlery collection and the now vintage car collection of the late Nizams.
